Although the mercury was a little higher than some of us would have liked, over 90 members attended our Thursday 25th June Summer Social.The catering was excellent as was the speaker, and it was so nice to sit around a table and socialise with ones fellow members. On a very hot day, thousands of people turned out on the Common at Lindfield Village Day. To ensure that our contribution to the local list of worthy charities did not go unnoticed we manned our stall and dealt with numerous enquiries e.g. "what is the u3a", "what subjects do you offer", "how can I join" and many more. On the 15th May, 15 members of Exploring London 4 met up at Kennington Tube Station. There we we joined by our guide to all things Charlie Chaplin. He was appropriately dressed as the 'little tramp' complete with bowler and cane. Last Thursday (12 Feb) a "Group Leader Appreciation" lunch was laid on at Haywards Heath Golf Club. This was to thank leaders and convenors for the essential work they put in that keeps our HH u3a vibrant and engaging. An impressive 70 performers and members of the audience turned out on a gloomy Saturday 6th December to be royally entertained by the Orchestra and Recorder Consort under the baton of Christine Colbourne.
