On the 15th May, 15 members of Exploring London 4 met up at Kennington Tube Station. There we we joined by our guide to all things Charlie Chaplin. He was appropriately dressed as the 'little tramp' complete with bowler and cane.
On our 1hr 50min walk we visited sites, around the borough of Lambeth, where Chaplin spent his impoverished childhood including the workhouse where he was incarcerated with his mother and half brother.
We also visited several of his homes including the one shown in the picture and the pub his uncle owned where he learned to tap dance on the cellar hatch.
Luckily, despite the forecast, the weather stayed mainly dry.
