An impressive 70 performers and members of the audience turned out on a gloomy Saturday 6th December to be royally entertained by the Orchestra and Recorder Consort under the baton of Christine Colbourne. We were also treated to Hazel Lintott's Handbell Ladies, jazz singer Jo Kimber, Michael Amour and Richard Hughes poetry reading, Bridget Lane, Valerie Stevenson and Bill Colbourne who safely negotiated an unfriendly microphone to perform a politically correct version of Snow White, Paul Roberts Ukulele quartet, Susanne Roberts with a very funny seasonal recitation. Philip Purdie sang a capella, Rene's US cousin 'Hank' regaled us with some well known Cowboy songs and it was a welcome back to one of Bill Colbourne's monologues.
Of course there were Carols for all to sing and refreshments courtesy of Amanda Trevitt and her wonderful army of RUGs.
Special thanks must go to Christine for her organisational skills in putting the whole thing together once again.
The retiring collection on behalf of the HH food bank netted £215 for which they are very grateful.
