The aim is to develop conversational and linguistic skills, learn something of the French way of life, and understand and use some of the intricacies of French grammar.  Listening, reading aloud and translating recorded news and conversational texts helps to improve pronunciation, vocabulary, general understanding of and confidence in speaking the language.
